How It Works

Your cursor speed depends on both your mouse's hardware DPI AND Windows pointer speed settings. Since browsers cannot access raw mouse sensor data, this tool measures your effective sensitivity instead:

Screen Calibration: Match a credit card to determine your screen's pixels per inch (PPI). This enables precise screen-distance measurements.
Physical Ruler Test: Using a real ruler on your desk, measure how many pixels your cursor moves per physical inch of mouse movement. This is your effective sensitivity.
Screen Distance Test: See how far your cursor travels to cover 1 inch of screen space. Combined with the physical test, this reveals your true sensitivity.
Settings Calculator: Input your Windows pointer speed (1-20) and mouse DPI to calculate expected sensitivity. Compare against your measured results to verify precision.

Browser-based tests measure cursor movement, not raw hardware DPI. Your results are affected by Windows pointer speed settings. For accurate results, ensure Windows pointer speed is set to 10 (1:1) or use the calculator to account for your settings.
