SteelSeries GG Sonar can be useful, but it often changes Windows audio devices and adds recording features you may not want. Here is how to disable Sonar and Moments after installing GG for your mouse.
When you install GG to change your mouse DPI, it often auto-enables "Sonar," a virtual audio mixer. You restart your PC, and suddenly your sound doesn't work because GG changed your Windows Output Device to "SteelSeries Gaming" instead of your actual speakers.
It also defaults to recording your gameplay (like NVIDIA ShadowPlay). If you wonder why your disk space is disappearing, check the "Moments" folder.
Disable Sonar: In GG, go to Settings > General and toggle "Sonar" to OFF. This prevents it from creating virtual audio devices.
Disable Moments: In Settings > Capture and Sound, turn off "Allow Moments to capture while gaming."
