Corsair iCUE 5: The System Monitor

iCUE is massive because it monitors your entire PC (temps, fan speeds), not just your mouse.

The Modular Fix

iCUE 5 introduced a "modular" installer. It scans your PC and *only* downloads the plugins for devices you actually have. This drastically reduces the hard drive space it uses compared to iCUE 4.

The CPU Drain

Even with the modular install, iCUE can use 3-5% of your CPU in the background because it is constantly polling motherboard sensors.

How to Tame It

Go to the Dashboard tab.

Remove/Hide every widget (CPU temp, GPU speed, etc.).

This stops the software from polling those sensors every second, dropping CPU usage back to near zero.
