Fix Cursor Jumping Around or Glitching
Is your cursor teleporting or stuttering across the screen? This is usually a sensor or surface issue, not a virus.
🧹 Clean the Sensor
Flip your mouse over. Use a Q-tip or compressed air to gently clean the sensor hole. Even a generic hair or speck of dust can cause the sensor to lose tracking and 'jump'.
🧊 Check Your Surface
Optical sensors struggle on glass or highly reflective surfaces. Try using a mousepad or even a piece of paper to see if the jumping stops.
Disable 'Enhance Pointer Precision'
Go to Mouse Settings > Pointer Options. Uncheck Enhance pointer precision. This feature (mouse acceleration) can sometimes cause erratic movement if the sensor is high-DPI.
Note: High polling rates on some wireless mice can also cause stuttering if the receiver is blocked.
