Customize Pointer Appearance: Size, Color & Trails

If you have trouble seeing the pointer or simply want a different look, both Windows and macOS let you adjust size, color, trails and more.

What you're changing: Visual aspects of the pointer. Functionality remains the same, but visibility or usability improves.

Windows & macOS

Windows

  1. Open Settings → Accessibility → Mouse pointer and touch.
  2. Use Size to enlarge or shrink the pointer.
  3. Choose a style: white, black, inverted or a custom color swatch.
  4. For trails or Snap To, open Additional mouse settings → Pointer Options.

macOS

  1. Open System Settings → Accessibility → Display → Pointer.
  2. Adjust Pointer size and pick outline/fill colors.
  3. Optionally enable Shake mouse pointer to locate for quick magnification.
